What to do in Sydney

Opera Sydney Australia

Hi everyone, I’m Alix from Alixisaround and I’m back home in Los Angeles after 4 months roadtripping in Asia and Australia.

Today, I’m here to let you know more about Sydney, where I spent 2 weeks.
Sydney is big, it is a city that has a lot to offer, and I’ve been amazed by every single things I discovered.

Here are the top 12 things I’ve appreciated the most :

Spending one afternoon walking on the Bondi to Coggee Coastal walk. Take a picnic with you and stop in one of the beaches to enjoy a lunch with a view.

Lunch at the Beach Sydney Australia

Enjoying a Sunday walk at the Glebe Market ans head down to The Rocks market.

Enjoying the sunset view on the top of the Coggee Pavillion with a good cocktail and a pizza. Trust me, they have the best pizzas in town!

Grabbing a fish and chips at The Fish and Chippery in Watson Bay, after having done the coastal walk starting in Rosebay.

The fish Market in Darling Harbour, is not only for fish lovers. You will find there some others delicatessen such as cheese, fresh fruits and vegetables, good breads and pastries. However, if you are afraid of the crowd, don’t go there at lunch time but try to go there a bit after or before.

On Sunday, the maximum fare you can pay for the public transportation is $2,70. Take the train to the Blue Mountains and enjoy some nice hiking there. If you are going there not in Summer, be ready to get cold, don’t forget to take a big jacket!

For surf lovers, you absolutely need to go to Manly. You will enjoy a nice beach with a big waves and for those who just want to relax, go to Shelly Beach or enjoy a small walk on the Corso where you will find several shops.

If you are a beginner in surf, I recommend you to go taking some surf lesson at Let’s go surfing. Instructors are really nice and you are in small groups of 5 people so you won’t be let alone.

The Sydney Opera House, to be seen at day time or at night time, this building is impressive. What I liked the most ? Going there for the sunset, the colours at that time are amazing. You can even get a cocktail there and watch the sun coming down behind the bridge.

Breakfast > Brunch > Lunch

Having a breakfast or brunch at The Grounds of Alexandria. For me, it’s one of the most beautiful place in Sydney to eat. Several food stands, different cuisine and the spot is really nice.

Bar Sydney Australia

Relaxing one day at Bondi Beach, have a breakfast at Vida Surf Shop, and taste one of their breakfast bowl. Have a walk in the neighbourhood.

Visit the Newton neighbourhood, enjoy a nice walk on King Street and enter the small vintage shops. Take a break for lunch at the Ya Habibi which is a libanese restaurant.

As I said before, there is so much things to do in Sydney that even in 2 weeks I didn’t get the chance to do all the things that I wanted. I recommend you to prepare in advance a to do list in order for you to be sure not to miss anything and to plan in advance your days.
